Prostate cancer is cancer that occurs in the prostate — a small walnut-shaped gland in men that produces the seminal fluid that nourishes and transports sperm.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in men. Usually prostate cancer grows slowly and is initially confined to the prostate gland, where it may not cause serious harm. However, while some types of prostate cancer grow slowly and may need minimal or even no treatment, other types are aggressive and can spread quickly. Prostate cancer that’s detected early — when it’s still confined to the prostate gland — has a better chance of successful treatment.

A significant number of men typically suffer from prostrate cancer at 45 and above, and a high percentage of men who get prostrate cancer die from it, since prostrate cancer is life-threatening depending on the stage of the cancer.

Yet cancer can be avoided to a very large degree except for those men who are genetically predisposed to developing cancer. The main causes of prostate cancer these days include;

1. The kind of foods we consume, which include foods containing a lot of cancer-causing preservatives and chemicals

2. Eating excess foods like red meat, eggs etc..

3. food with a high cholesterol level and fat content

4. Alcohol.

These aforementioned foods cause the development of cancer , especially prostrate cancer in men. You’ll need to reduce how much red meat , eggs and alcohol you consume on a daily and weekly basis, because most of the time it’s the excess amount of these foods that increases our chances of developing prostrate gland cancer, which can be life-threatening depending on the stay.

So please no matter how much you enjoy consuming these things, you need to cut down on how much you take to allow your body to flush it out of your system. For eggs, the recommended amount of egg that is healthy for you to consume is around two a day and not more than 10 a week. Remember it’s a guideline, if you like, you can cut it down more, the aim is to ensure you keep your body safe and make sure you don’t cause prostrate cancer growth in your body.

For alcohol, the maximum intake of alcohol should not be more than one bottle a day but it would be safer if you can cut it down. According to study , high alcohol drinkers are more likely to develop prostrate cancer than those who drink less or do not drink at all. While eating red meat, do your best to replace it with white meat, it is healthier and safer, because red meat creates carcinogenic compounds when exposed to high heat levels such as those that we use to cook on gas stoves, firewoods etc.

The type of foods we consume may also be a factor that predisposes us to cancer, such as foods with high cholesterol and fat levels, as research has shown that high cholesterol and fat levels predispose us to develop certain forms of cancer such as cancer of the prostrate, colorectal cancer, etc.

Prostate cancer may cause no signs or symptoms in its early stages.

Prostate cancer that’s more advanced may cause signs and symptoms such as:

Trouble urinating

Decreased force in the stream of urine

Discomfort in the pelvic area

Bone pain

If you have these kindly visit doctor for proper diagnosis.
